The shape of the tines on the digging fork and their proper angle relative to the handle allow it to be driven into the ground with virtually no resistance. Because the garden fork, unlike a spade, does not cut through the soil, the roots of plants in the garden or flower bed are spared, and the plants remain healthy. The digging fork is available in various models. For example, there are versions with three or four tines, and you can choose between a T-handle or a D-handle. There is also a vintage version of the digging fork that features a sturdy dark brown wooden T-handle.
