This planting trowel was specially developed for the Arends Perennial Nursery. The nursery was founded in 1888 by Georg Arends in Ronsdorf, Germany. Many of the perennials he cultivated have received the highest honors from the Royal Horticultural Society in England. The Arends planting trowel was introduced around 1920. It is based on a masonry trowel designed specifically for professional use, which was further developed to make gardening work more efficient. In collaboration with Anja Maubach, Georg Arends’ granddaughter, Sneeboer has reintroduced this planting trowel to the market, naturally with great enthusiasm. The Arends Hand Spade is available with a handle made of ash or cherry wood.
