This plant shovel was specially developed for Arends perennial nursery. In 1888, this nursery was set up by Georg Arends in Ronsdorf, Germany. Many of his cultivated perennials have received the very highest awards from the English Royal Horticultural Society. Around 1920, the Arends plant shovel was introduced. The basis is a masonry trowel especially for professional use, further developed to efficiently ease the work in the garden. In cooperation with Anja Maubach, granddaughter of Georg Arends, Sneeboer has reintroduced this plant spade to the market, with naturally very enthusiastic expectations. The Arends Handspade is available with a handle of ash or cherry wood.
Eagle Shovel

The Eagle plant shovel (Handspaten in German) has a wide, pointed blade which lends itself well to piercing the soil and scooping a planting hole. The shank from the blade to the handle is curved to minimise stress on the wrist.
