I used to live in Ontario, Canada and got a job as a gardener/landscaper working for this very experienced designer/artist on some beautiful organic gardens. It was this experience that made me fall in love with the craft and the intricacies of plants, soil culture, and the tools that we use to orchestrate a beautiful, harmonious landscape. I can safely say my boss was passionate about being updated on all the newest and best supplies to use when gardening, and what he did value was having an arsenal of Sneeboer tools. Everything from forks, spades, edgers, hand tools, rakes, you name it. He, along with the whole crew, loved the quality, craftsmanship, durability and power of these tools. It’s like a work of art in the form of a tool and we could all agree that it is the best brand of gardening tools on the market.
That being said, this past year I moved to Quebec and had to leave my job. Sadly I couldn’t take any of the Sneeboer tools with me even though my passion for gardening continues wherever I go. To commemorate the formative times I had learning so much and developing a connection to myself, nature and the people – and tools – around me, I decided to get a tattoo of the Sneeboer logo on my ankle. I feel this tattoo symbolizes a lot of good things for me in my life. Most importantly, it is a reminder to emphasize the importance of good craftsmanship and a high quality standard in the work that I do.
