The Great Dixter trowel was designed at the request of Fergus Garrett, head gardener at Great Dixter. This trowel is one of the tools we market under the ‘Great Dixter’ name. Sneeboer is therefore the only manufacturer in the world authorised to market certain tools under this name. For every Great Dixter tool sold, we donate a portion of the proceeds to the Great Dixter Charitable Trust. We are therefore delighted to be able to contribute in this way to the preservation of an English cultural heritage.
Great Dixter Planting Spade

The classic trowel has been part of the Sneeboer collection for several generations. The blade of the trowel is sharply ground on both sides and tapers to a point, making it easy to push into the ground. The short length of the Perrenial Spade allows you to work whilst kneeling, whilst maintaining a clear view. It is ideal for use close to the ground. The Great Dixter hand trowel has a groove running the length of the blade to allow you to scoop up plenty of soil, and is ideal for digging planting holes and dividing plants.
