On Kings Day, we not only celebrate our king’s birthday, but also the connections our country has with its royal family. One of these special links is that between Sneeboer and our beloved royal family. With a history dating back 111 years, Sneeboer has not only proven itself as a producer of high-quality stainless steel garden tools, but also received the honourable designation of royal supplier in 2013. Since then, we can proudly call ourselves “Royal Sneeboer”, a title that underlines a deep-rooted connection to the royal family.
Royal Sneeboer
It is a recognition of our dedication to craftsmanship and quality that we have been named a purveyor to the royal household. This recognition is not only a milestone for our company, but also a token of appreciation for our team’s years of commitment. It enables us to produce our garden tools with even greater pride, knowing that they are appreciated by our royal family.
Gardening within the royal family
What makes this connection even more special is the shared enthusiasm for gardening within the royal family. It is well known that our royal family loves to roll up their sleeves in the garden. A notable moment was when Prince Willem-Alexander, now our king, visited Keukenhof in 2003 and planted some bulbs there with a Sneeboer Plant Trowel. This special event took place in honour of a new bulb variety named after the Prince. It illustrates the personal connection the king has with our company and products.
The British royal family is also a fan
But it is not only in the Netherlands that the love of gardening is shared with our royal family. For more than 20 years, it has been a tradition for members of the British royal family to open the Chelsea Flower Show. This annual event not only attracts garden lovers from all over the world, but also connects the royal families of the Netherlands and the UK in their shared passion for greenery and floral beauty.
The bond between Sneeboer and King’s House goes beyond business. It reflects a shared appreciation for tradition, craftsmanship and the beauty of nature. As Royal Sneeboer, we are honoured to play a role in enriching this bond. It reminds us that, despite all the changes in the world around us, some connections are timeless.
On this King’s Day, we celebrate not only our King’s birthday, but also the rich traditions and special connections our country cherishes. Let us be proud of our Royal Sneeboer and the bond we share with our beloved royal family. Long live the King and long live the garden traditions that bind us together!
