Arends Trowel

 60,45

The Arends trowel (or Handspaten in German) features a broad, tapered blade which can be used to dig planting holes with ease while simultaneously creating the perfect shaped hole. The wide blade is bent slightly so it can be used to scoop material as well. The neck connecting the blade and handle is formed in such a way that it can be used for prolonged periods without putting too much pressure on your wrists.

More information

This trowel was specifically designed for the Arends nursery. This nursery was established in 1888 by Georg Arends in Ronsdorf, Germany. Many of the plants that he grew received the highest awards at numerous shows by the Royal Horticultural Society. Around 1920, Georg introduced the Arends Handspaten; a development of an ordinary masonry trowel to make working in the garden more comfortable. Together with Georg’s granddaughter Anja Maubach, Sneeboer has given this special trowel a second life by producing this old design from high quality stainless steel. The Arends trowel is available with a handle of ash or cherry wood.
