This plant shovel was specially designed for Arends perennial nursery. In 1888, this nursery was established by Georg Arends in Ronsdorf, Germany. Many of his cultivated perennials have received the very highest awards from the English Royal Horticultural Society. Around 1920, the Arends plant shovel was introduced. The basis is a masonry trowel especially for professional use, further developed to efficiently ease the work in the garden. In cooperation with Anja Maubach, granddaughter of Georg Arends, Sneeboer has reintroduced this plant spade to the market, with obviously very enthusiastic expectations.
