The name comes from the Zeeland dialect word “schraal,” which means “meager” or “thin”—a reference to the long, thin rod that connects the blade to the handle. The schrepel is a quintessentially Dutch tool developed in the 19th century in the province of Zeeland for the labor-intensive task of thinning sugar beets. The schrepel is asymmetrically designed to increase precision while working and resembles a smaller version of a hoe. The schrepel is available in left- and right-handed versions, with a choice of an ash or cherry wood handle and a blade width ranging from 8 to 14 cm.

The classic weeding hoe is specially designed for thinning beets and chicory in the vegetable garden, but is also ideal for removing weeds and aerating the soil. The blade is angled at a specific angle relative to the handle, which reduces strain on the wrist when working close to the ground.

"product_360_url":"

140,101,97,136
1897,958
["post-50893","product","type-product","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","product_cat-garden-hoe-4","product_cat-hand-tools-4","product_cat-handtuingereedschap","product_cat-schoffel-en-hak","product_tag-sillonage","product_tag-weeding-en-us","post","first","instock","taxable","shipping-taxable","purchasable","product-type-simple
["GET
