Collaborations

Craftsmanship meets creativity

At Sneeboer, we believe that truly beautiful things are created when craftsmanship and passion come together. We have been handcrafting the best gardening tools since 1913. Each one is forged with care, with an eye for detail, and designed to last for generations.

It is therefore no coincidence that renowned brands and designers know where to find us. From fashion houses that created stylish bags to carry our tools, to Warsteiner, which had a shovel with a built-in bottle opener developed, and of course our long-standing collaboration with gardening visionary Piet Oudolf. Each and every one of these is a unique project in which craftsmanship, creativity, and a love of quality come together.

This page provides an overview of these special collaborations. Stories in which brands not only complement each other, but also reinforce each other. Because beautiful products simply go together naturally.

Goyard

Goyard chooses Sneeboer: craftsmanship meets aesthetics

Since 1853, Goyard has been known for its discreet luxury, timeless style and uncompromising quality. The fact that Sneeboer, founded in 1913, has been given the honour of playing a central role in this exclusive edition underlines the shared values of both houses: traditional craftsmanship, sustainability and attention to detail.

The Goyard bag contains six carefully selected garden tools from Sneeboer. Each piece is hand-forged in our workshop in Bovenkarspel. The tools are not only functional, but also a visual statement of craftsmanship perfection.

Warsteiner

In 2010, Sneeboer collaborated with German beer brand Warsteiner on a playful and original campaign that focused on gardening and enjoying yourself after work. This collaboration resulted in a specially designed transplanting trowel with a bottle opener, a unique hand tool that was both practical and surprising.

About the collaboration
The core of the collaboration was the idea:
‘First garden with Sneeboer, then enjoy a Warsteiner.’

This slogan perfectly summed up the spirit of the project: combining craftsmanship, relaxation and enjoyment of life.

The special Warsteiner edition

  • Sneeboer designed a series of five hand tools, including the striking transplanting trowel with integrated bottle opener.
  • Each tool was adorned with the Warsteiner logo, stylishly engraved in the rounded end of the ash wood handle.
  • The campaign targeted gardening enthusiasts with a sense of humour and an appreciation for quality: an ode to the balance between work and relaxation.

Goal and impact
This collaboration focused primarily on brand perception: Warsteiner positioned itself as the beer for gardeners who appreciate craftsmanship, while Sneeboer demonstrated the creativity and versatility of their craft. The bottle opener trowel became a conversation starter and collector’s item — a rare example of functional promotional material with real added value. This transplanting trowel with beer opener is a best seller around Father’s Day and a truly unique tool. You can also have us engrave a personal message into the wooden handle.

Piet Oudolf

The collaboration between Sneeboer & Zn. and garden designer Piet Oudolf is an inspiring example of how traditional craftsmanship and landscape architecture reinforce each other. Both parties share a deeply rooted mission: ‘to experience the power and beauty of nature, sustainability, ecosystems and the environment’.

A shared vision on gardening

Piet Oudolf, internationally renowned for his natural planting style with perennials and ornamental grasses, is known for his designs that captivate throughout the year. His gardens, such as the High Line in New York, the Lurie Garden in Chicago and the Vlinderhof in Utrecht, are admired worldwide. To realise his vision, reliable and functional tools are essential. That is why Oudolf personally selected a range of Sneeboer hand tools that fit in with his design philosophy.

The Piet Oudolf Collection

The collection consists of hand-forged stainless steel tools, including a transplanting trowel and a 10 cm straight-hand hoe. These tools are designed for precision work such as transplanting, weeding and levelling the soil. They come in a durable cotton bag, with the engraving “Piet Oudolf Collection” on the ash wood handle.

Limited Edition Seed Box

A limited edition has been released for collectors and enthusiasts: the Piet Oudolf Collection in a wooden seed box. This set contains the same tools, packaged in a reusable wooden box that can also be used for seed storage. In 2023, 50 copies of this edition were personally signed by Piet Oudolf himself. They sold out quickly.

A garden for all seasons

Oudolf’s approach to gardening emphasises the beauty of plants in every phase of their life cycle. His designs ensure that gardens are attractive in every season. An original garden design drawing by Oudolf is available on Sneeboer’s special Piet Oudolf page, offering insight into his unique approach to space and planting.
